No rolls are required to learn spells, and magic users do not receive new spells upon the achievement of a new level. “Maximum Number of Spells/Level” applies (see Intelligence Table II – PHB pg 10).
After character creation, magic users acquire new spells through adventuring.
Magic Missile: uses d6+1 for damage instead of d4+1.
Wall of Fire does not inflict additional damage against Undead creatures.
Haste: when cast, the recipient rolls against system shock. Failing the SS roll results in the loss of a year of lifespan, a successful SS roll prevents the loss of a year of lifespan.
Roll to hit for Fireball, Lightning Bolt and other “missile like” spells. Roll is to hit AC 10. On a miss, for every point the roll was missed by, the detonation point will be off that many feet in a random direction. (Appears not of use.)
