Starting XP to be given by the DM.
Stat rolls: 4d6, drop lowest, arrange as desired
Classes: only classes from the Player's Handbook may be created
- Unearthed Arcana spells, magic items, and level limits are permitted (allows higher possible levels for demihumans)
- No roll is required to learn spells. However, “Maximum Number of Spells/Level” applies (see Intelligence Table II – PHB pg 10)
- Clerics may be able to wield different weapons (swords, daggers, axes, bows, etc.) based on their deity, and may also have different abilities and restrictions, as well. Alternatively, a player may opt to play a straight “by the book” cleric.
- Alignment languages are not used.
Currency
Player characters start with money per normal rules, except that the amount rolled is in silver Marks (SP) rather than gold (GP). Prices may converted to this system as follows:
1 Silver Mark (SP) = 1 standard gold piece (GP)
1 Copper Pence (CP) = 2 standard silver pieces (SP)
1 Bronze Penny (BP) = 2 standard copper (CP)
Equipment
- Characters may be equipped with any reasonable mundane gear
- At DM option, new characters may be given a few low budget magic items after character creation
Back story complexity and depth at player option.
