Beaten and bloodied from their battle in the Demogorgon temple, the party retreated back to the secret room near the red demon storage room, arriving without incident. Once settled, Mordecai raised Deaglan from the dead successfully while Dane also returned form the dead thanks to his ring. The party then settled in and passed an uneventful night resting. The next day they decided to rest the entire day, though they did take a small field trip to the Ice Wizard statue, where Sirius cast passwall under it and dropped it into a hole. Once the floor was restored and the statue now underground, the wizard entered the room. He felt a slight vibration in the floor that stopped after a few seconds. This was followed by an ice storm that pummeled the wizard! They all returned t the secret room and passed another night. A glyph of warding set by Mordecai exploded in the night, but nothing else was heard, and there was no sign of what set it off the next day.
Exploring to the east and south, they came to a room filled with what seemed to be snow and ice. The party entered and suddenly the “snow” came to life and tried to envelope Burt with an acidic burning. Happily, the mass was slain rather quickly without further effect. A search of the room revealed a secret door, beyond which was a rather notable treasure, much to the party’s delight.
The party continued on, soon coming to a hall filled with alcoves containing broken chunks of ice with the occasional stone. A search and detect magic revealed nothing here of note. Nearby, the party came to an octagonal chamber with two doors and another passage heading out to the east. Deaglan took the time to put some marbles in the open hall before the party started opening doors. The doors revealed lairs for a number of blue-skinned Trolls. A general melee broke out. Sirius managed to web a few of them right away. Deaglan got in a backstab. Hans threw some magic missiles. Burt, HelgaVinka, Dane, Jarrik, and ZZ got into the fight. There was apparently some confusion as Hans also cast minor globe of invulnerability thinking a fireball would be useful, but the fight carried on. Things got even more chaotic when more blue Trolls arrived from the east…running right onto Deaglan’s marbles. This allowed for some lightning bolts and the fireball. Finally, the last two trolls broke and fled back east, only to be caught by a hasted ZZ, who cut them down.
The party dragged the Troll corpses into one of the rooms to hide them and then moved into the other to rest, first putting a wizard lock and glyph of warding on the door to protect themselves.
