The party concluded their interview with Lady Ursula of the Dry Tree after many questions had been asked and answered. The lady clearly had much knowledge of the three wizards, though her undemanding further afield was limited. (And, as promised, since I didn’t write much down, I’ve already forgot what she told you!)
The next day was spent quietly at the Castle of the Dry Tree. But that evening, in the Great Hall of the castle, was held an accolade ceremony for ZZ. Before the gathered Champions of the Dry Tree and many others the dwarf swore fealty to the Lady. After he took his oath, took a smack from the Lady, and signed several charter, he was presented with a golden belt as a sign of his status as a Champion. The rest of the party was also given gifts, though none of them took the oath. A few of the Champions seemed to think it odd a dwarf was given this honor (a first) but the Lady clearly had no problem with it, once again reminding her folk that they had fought side by side with dwarves from the Kingdom against the three wizards. It was a boisterous feast, to be sure!
At one point, the party told the Lady that they desired to strike a blow against the wizards. She was quite pleased to point out to them that Copper had a tower to the south, not far off the road on the way to Sarkum and Far Andor, where the party was considering going to. Though Copper was not there, sacking it would be a blow to his power and would likely result in good plunder for the party (she clearly knew their motivations!).
The morning after the feast, the party left the Castle of the Dry Tree and headed out into a heavy snowstorm. They made their way slowly but steadily, finally camping that night in a woodland west of the Grand Forest. The snow continued into the next day. Still, the party was able to enter the forest and eventually find the tower on a hill, east of the main north-south road. To scout, Du spoke to a hawk and was able to determine that the tower appeared deserted, or at least no guards were visible, though if that were due to the weather or not was unclear.
The party now entered the tower, and Dane was soon enveloped by a Trapper disguised as a great rug. Sirius cast enlarge on him, and he was soon freed and the rug-monster destroyed. The party now explored the tower, and it did indeed seem unoccupied. Its four levels were explored fairly thoroughly and seemed rather unremarkable. There were traps throughout, though. One in the mouth of a mounted red dragon head was fired off by an unseen servant cast by Burt. There were also a few riddles, none of them particularly difficult to answer, it would seem. And the party discovered a few rings of magical nature, as well as an amulet (I think you identified one or two things but my notes don’t specify!)
Finally reaching he roof, the party found a round, raised platform with a slight glow to it. Assuming this must be a teleporter, the party stepped onto it and found out they were correct…
